How Thai therapy is different
Traditional Thai therapy does not use long oil strokes. Instead your therapist uses palms, thumbs, forearms and gentle body weight to press along the body in a steady rhythm, then moves you through assisted stretches (hips, hamstrings, back and shoulders) that you would struggle to reach on your own. Because there is no oil, you stay in comfortable clothing and can head straight back to your day.
Who it suits
- Tight hips and hamstrings from sitting all day.
- People who dislike oil or need to go back to work straight after.
- Anyone who feels sluggish. Guests often describe Thai therapy as energising rather than sleepy.
- Yoga and fitness regulars who want deeper mobility work.
Prefer to melt into the table instead? A Balinese massage combines gentle stretches with aromatherapy oils for a softer experience.
What to expect
- Consultation about flexibility, injuries and pressure.
- Loose, comfortable clothing. We provide suitable garments if needed.
- Acupressure and compression along the legs, back, arms and shoulders.
- Assisted stretches taken only as far as is comfortable for you.
Stretches should never be forced. Tell your therapist straight away if anything pinches. If you have a joint replacement, a recent injury, osteoporosis or are pregnant, let us know before booking.

Questions guests ask
Does Thai massage use oil?
No. Our traditional Thai therapy is a dry therapy performed fully clothed without oil.
Is Thai massage painful?
It should feel strong but comfortable. Stretches are taken only as far as your body allows, and pressure is adjusted on request.
Thai or deep tissue for stiffness?
Thai therapy is better for overall stiffness and flexibility. Deep tissue is better for specific knots in one area.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, loose clothing. We can provide suitable garments.
